Owners of private plots grow not only ordinary seedlings, sometimes real works of art are also found.

To place flowers and various plants, flowerpots are required, which can be done independently.

This is what will be discussed in this material.

Types of flowerpots

Indoor

This type of flowerpots can be divided into conventional and portable, having simple and complex forms. They can be made of different materials: wood, stone, polymer concrete, and so on.

Street

As for street products, they are much larger in size than indoor flowerpots, and are located exclusively on the street. They are prepared either from plastic (economy option) or polymer concrete (more expensive material).

Decorative

Decorative products do not take up much space and are often found where the area is very limited, usually city courtyards.

Entrance groups

This species is perhaps the most common. They are usually placed on poles, stands or directly on the ground.

Flowerpots from concrete do it yourself

The owners who want to decorate their site with attractive street flowerpots have 2 options: purchase ready-made ones, or make them yourself. The second option is much more attractive, because in addition to significant savings, you can make flowerpots to your taste, good, the choice of materials is impressive. Let's start with one of the simplest: concrete flowerpots.

To get started, prepare the following components:

  • 2 containers with different diameters;

  • cement mortar;

  • atomizer;

  • vegetable oil.

Manufacturing process

1. First, treat the inside of a large container with oil and a smaller container outside. After that, cut a few pieces 5 cm from the plastic pipe, they will be needed for drainage. Prepare a cement mortar. If you plan to make your product color, add a little color to the solution.

2. A layer of solution is poured into a large container, ideally 2 cm. We insert the prepared tubes and wait until it hardens. We drop a smaller container in a large container so that it lies on the tubes. After that, carefully fill the gap between the containers with the solution.

3. After the incident of 24 hours, when the solution finally sets, carefully remove the smaller container, and spray the solution with water, without removing it from the larger container. We wrap our product in a film and for 6-7 days regularly wet it so that the cement remains moist. After 7 days, the finished product must be carefully knocked out of a larger container. Our flowerpot is ready, you can safely plant flowers in it and decorate the site.

Do-it-yourself flowerpots of obsolete things

To make flowerpots for the street, you can use any old things, from all kinds of buckets, jugs and ending with outdated shoes and beer bottles.

An old plate is a potentially great option for creating a flowerpot. All that is needed is to hold the plate a little above the heater so that it warms up well and becomes plastic. After that, it will be possible to give it any shape, most importantly, do everything carefully so as not to get burns.

You can decorate such a flowerpot with the help of broken glass, all kinds of small pebbles, shells and so on. Here your imagination and imagination comes to the fore, the only thing you need is to put together and select decorative elements well. The easiest way is to finish the product with colored glass fixed with tile glue.

Cracked dishes will look great as a decoration on the plot. If you have old pottery, then with its help you can make any part of your home very stylish and original.

If, in addition to outdated dishes, there is also the same furniture, you can try to combine them. For example, a well-painted and decorated jug or saucepan can be placed on a chair or bedside table, this will be a great basis for a flower garden.

Flowerpots from a stump and sawn trees do-it-yourself

Stump - this is not necessarily the remains of an extinct tree, it can be used with great benefit. For example, you can put a whole flower garden in it, that is, in your yard you already have a practically finished base, which you only need to adjust to your requirements. All we need for this is a drill and a chisel.

First, you need to make a number of holes on the stump surface, depending on its thickness. Try to make holes as close to each other as possible to make working with wood easier.

Then, using a chisel, you need to carefully remove the wood from the inside. This process needs to be continued until you reach what you need for your future flowerpot depth. The volume of the pot may vary depending on the strength and size of the stump itself, if the wood is rotten, the walls should be thicker.

That is the whole procedure. We fill the ground inside the stump and plant the ground: the pot is ready.

A pretty good option can come out of sawn trees, namely birch. Planting plants in the flowerpot itself is not recommended, since wood with frequent watering can begin to rot. Therefore, inside a carved tree branch you need to put some kind of pot that will not allow moisture to destroy the wood.

That's all the tips. Do not limit yourself to fantasies and turn your site into a real work of art!
