Yesterday, the clock hands were moved back an hour. Despite the obvious convenience, doctors are not tired of arguing about the impact of this change on the human body. In particular, the question of how the transition to winter time affects the physical condition of children is discussed. It is believed that artificial lengthening of the day can increase the risk of obesity in the younger generation.

The fact is that when the clock is translated, the day is extended, and the dark time comes earlier than usual, which leads to the fact that children start to be less on the street. In contrast, it was noted that in the summer, when the evening is long and light, the activity of children increases by 2 minutes. Such a term seems nonsense, however, the test results showed their importance.

A study was conducted, which involved 23,000 children 2-16 years old from different countries. They were all equipped with instruments measuring the activity and the amount of movement.

When analyzing the results, the length of daylight and the degree of activity were taken into account. It turned out that while the light physical activity of children increased by 15-20%. And on dark days it fell significantly. Scientists are convinced that due to the transfer of hours, children are forced to stay at home, which leads to an inactive lifestyle. Opponents of this theory argue that increasing the day for an hour is good, because children can get up in kindergarten and school when it is already light.
