Cabbage in a slow cooker - general principles and methods of preparation

With the invention of the slow cooker, any vegetables, including cabbage, have become much more convenient to cook, more interesting, and most importantly, more useful. Cabbage cooked in a multicooker turns out to be more saturated, aromatic, and all thanks to the complete tightness of a simple multi-functional miracle device. Cabbage is easily cooked without your participation under a tightly fitted lid and maximally preserves the beneficial properties inherent in fresh fruits.

Cabbage in a slow cooker can be combined with other vegetables: carrots, potatoes, zucchini, corn, eggplant, beets, green beans, etc., since the slow cooker is adapted for almost any ingredients. Vegetables can also be prepared with pieces of meat, fried or boiled previously. If the raw meat is laid together with cabbage, then it should not be cut into large pieces, and the cooking time of the dish increases slightly.

In a slow cooker, you can bake cabbage, stew, steam or water, as well as fry. Steamed vegetables are considered the most valuable. The second place in terms of usefulness was given to vegetables boiled (stewed) in water (broth), since some of the vitamins in the process of processing go into the water.

Cabbage in a slow cooker - preparation of products

To prepare white cabbage in a slow cooker, peel it from the top darkened leaves and rotten black spots, rinse in running water, cut into small cubes with a kitchen knife. We do not use the stump (dense core) in the preparation of the dish! Then proceed according to the recipe. For cauliflower dishes, only its inflorescences are suitable, which are also washed and crushed before cooking.

Recipe 1: Braised Cabbage in a Slow Cooker

A very tasty and healthy dish, the preparation of which will take you very little time and energy. Cabbage can be stewed with any kind of meat, but it is especially good with chicken. In addition, this dish belongs to the category of dietary foods, so you can enjoy juicy vegetables and tender meat without the slightest harm to the figure.

Ingredients: cabbage - 1 kilogram, chicken fillet - 400 gr., carrot - 1 pc., onion - 1 cf. pcs., tomato juice - 100 gr. or tomato paste - 1 tablespoon., olive oil - two tablespoons.

Cooking method:

1. For 40 minutes, put the crock-pot into the "Baking" mode. If the cabbage is soft, young, twenty minutes will be enough.

2. Pour a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil into a saucepan. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, cut the onions and send everything to the pan.

3. Cut into small pieces of chicken and add it to the onions and carrots.

4. Thinly chop cabbage, send it to vegetables and meat. Keep in mind at this point you do not need to salt or mix anything. Just wait until the slow cooker notifies you of the end of the Baking mode. During this time, the cabbage will sag, and the meat, carrots and onions will be fried until golden brown.

5. After the specified time, pour the cabbage with tomato juice or paste. Now the dish needs to be salt, pepper, add any other seasonings and mix well. Then set the mode "Extinguishing" for one hour and you can deal with yourself with a clear conscience in anticipation of a delicious dinner.

Recipe 2: Braised Cabbage with Rice in a Multicooker

Despite the apparent simplicity and familiar products, the dish impresses with its excellent taste. Usually, pork is used to cook it, but if you are fasting, you can safely replace the meat with mushrooms. Each housewife cooks it in his own way, using secrets known only to her. You can also please loved ones with an excellent dish, having prepared it according to such a recipe.

Ingredients: rice - 1 multi-cup, water - 1.5 multi-cups, sunflower oil - 2-4 tablespoons, meat - 400 gr., cabbage - one average head of onion, onion - 1 pc., spices to your taste, salt.

Cooking method:

1. Pour vegetable oil into a multicooker saucepan.

2. In small pieces, cut the pork, put it in a pan and turn the slow cooker into the "Baking" mode for half an hour.

3. Cut the onions, grate the carrots on a coarse grater and send them to fry the meat for 10-15 minutes. If you have bell peppers or fresh tomatoes, you can add them too.

4. Now add the cabbage and a little salt to let the juice flow. Stew vegetables and meat for another 15 minutes.

Recipe 3: Cauliflower omelet in a slow cooker.

Cabbage in a slow cooker - useful tips

- To prevent cauliflower inflorescences from losing their natural color and becoming “watery” in a slow cooker, add a small amount of refined sugar to them (a small pinch is enough);

- In no case do not boil water (broth) in a slow cooker using the "Baking" mode;

- Do not put a container moist outside on the multicooker, the outer surface must be clean and absolutely dry before starting work;
