It was found that if a person uses sweeteners for weight loss, it can significantly harm his health.

An experiment was conducted on men and women suffering from overweight. They were divided into groups: in the first, the participants did not consume sugar at all, and in the second, only sugar substitutes. Control tests after three months showed that the volunteers of the first group lost more weight than they did from the second.

Earlier experiments on mice showed that those who consumed yogurts with sweeteners gained more weight. The reason for this is a special reaction of the body to artificial sweeteners: it is tuned to get calories, resulting in increased appetite and metabolic processes.

It was also confirmed that the abuse of one of the most popular sweeteners - aspartame can cause serious harm to health. In particular, cause allergies and depression. Experiments on rodents have shown that large quantities of aspartame lead to brain cancer.

It was also scientifically proven that everyday consumption of dietary cola can increase the risk of diabetes by up to 40%.
