Sea buckthorn tincture at home is an alcoholic drink that is a healing potion. It was used by our ancestors to treat many diseases and strengthen the body.

Sea buckthorn tincture at home - the basic principles of preparation

Preparing a tincture of sea buckthorn at home is not difficult. The most difficult thing is to collect sea buckthorn so that the berries do not turn into an unattractive mess. There are several ways to do this quickly. The branches of the plant are cut, and then with the help of nail scissors cut the berries from it. Frozen sea buckthorn will easily crumble if beaten on a branch with a stick. Then the berries are carefully sorted, removing twigs, leaves and damaged fruits. Rotten sea buckthorn can hopelessly spoil the taste of the drink.

The prepared berries are thoroughly washed, spread in a three-liter bottle and knead with a wooden crush. You can grind sea buckthorn to a puree condition using a food processor. The berries are covered with sugar, mixed and poured all with an alcoholic drink. Stand for about a month. During infusion, tincture should be shaken periodically.

The flesh and seeds of sea buckthorn contain a lot of oils, so the tincture will not turn out transparent. But this problem can be solved by carefully filtering the drink through a special filter, or by collecting oil from the surface with a syringe.

The finished drink is poured into clean glass bottles of dark glass. Hermetically sealed with corks and stored for two years in a cool room.

Sea buckthorn goes well with honey, cinnamon, vanilla, cloves and other spices. The taste of the drink will acquire new interesting notes if spices are added to it.

A properly prepared tincture will have a rich yellow tint, a delicate pleasant aroma and a sweetish taste with a slight sourness.

Recipe 1. The classic tincture of sea buckthorn at home

Ingredients

700 ml of quality vodka;

100 g cane sugar.

Cooking method

The berries of sea buckthorn should be given special attention, since the taste of the future tincture depends on their quality. Carefully sort the sea buckthorn, removing rotted fruits. Rinse the berries under running water, putting them in a colander. Pour them into a three-liter glass bottle and mash with a wooden potato cracker.

Pour granulated sugar and pour vodka over everything. Close the jar tightly with a lid and shake well.

Leave the jar in a warm, darkened place for about a month. A pantry is perfect for this. Shake the contents of the can daily.

Fold gauze several times and filter the drink through it. If you want the tincture to be even more transparent, strain it also through a cotton filter. Bottle the tincture, seal it tightly and store in the cold for two years.

Recipe 2. Tincture of sea buckthorn at home on alcohol

Ingredients

liter jar of sea buckthorn berries;

filtered water;

175 g of white sugar;

liter of 96% alcohol.

Cooking method

Gently remove the berries from the branches, carefully sort through to remove all spoiled fruits. Put the sea buckthorn in a colander and rinse under a stream of cold water. Transfer to a suitable dish and mash with a nibbler to a puree state.

Transfer the sea buckthorn gruel to a wide-necked glass jar. Cover with gauze and put in heat so that the berries begin to ferment. It will take three to four days.

Pour the contents of the dishes to the brim with alcohol. Put in a darkened warm place again for a month.

Strain the tincture several times through gauze or a cotton filter. Dilute the drink to the desired strength with filtered water. If necessary, add sugar to it, pour into a clean container and insist for a couple of weeks.

Collect the fat fraction with a syringe. Pour the tincture into clean glass bottles, tightly seal and store in a cellar or basement.

Recipe 3. Sea-buckthorn tincture at home with honey

Ingredients

600 ml of spring water;

250 g of sea buckthorn berries;

85 g of natural honey;

800 ml of moonshine.

Cooking method

Carefully sort through the berries to prevent rotten fruits and garbage from getting into the drink. Rinse the sea buckthorn and place in a clean glass bottle. Pour moonshine and spring water. Seal the vessel tightly, shake and place in a dark room for three weeks.

Filter the resulting solution. Squeeze the berry mixture with gauze. Pour about 100 ml of the drink into the saucepan and dilute the honey in it. Put on a small fire and lightly heat, but not until hot. Then pour into the main drink and filter through two layers of gauze. Dilute with water to the desired fortress.

Pour the finished drink into clean dark glass bottles, seal it tightly with corks and store in a cellar or pantry. The shelf life of sea buckthorn tincture is two years.

Recipe 4: Tincture of sea buckthorn at home with walnut membranes

Ingredients

liter of frozen sea buckthorn;

honey or sugar to taste;

two liters of 50% moonshine;

two tbsp. l walnut partitions.

Cooking method

Place the walnut partitions in a liter glass jar and pour moonshine to the top. Put for a week in a dark, warm place.

Cut off sea buckthorn berries. Sort them carefully, carefully choosing all the garbage and spoiled fruits. Transfer sea buckthorn to a sieve and rinse. Leave for a while to dry the fruits. Put the berries in another jar, fill with an alcoholic drink and leave in a dark place for seven days.

After a week, drain the sea buckthorn infusion. Filter it and use it for medicinal purposes.

Alcohol, infused on walnut partitions, strain and fill them with sea buckthorn berries. Cork and put in a dark place for two to three weeks. Then drain the infusion, strain through a gauze or cotton filter. Sweeten the drink to your taste and leave to rest for a few days. Tincture prepared according to this recipe does not contain a large amount of oil. It turns out transparent and does not have a medicinal taste, which is inherent in sea buckthorn tinctures.

Recipe 5: Sea-buckthorn tincture at home on cognac

Ingredients

orange peel;

sea ​​buckthorn - half a kilogram;

cloves;

sugar - 75 g;

juniper;

half a liter of cognac.

Cooking method

Carefully separate the sea buckthorn berries from the twigs. Sort them well so that spoiled fruits and garbage do not get into the drink. Rinse the berries thoroughly and pat dry.

Put in a suitable dish, pour sugar and thoroughly mash with a pestle, or beat until pureed in a food processor.

Transfer the berry puree to a dry, clean glass liter container. Pour it with alcohol. Add the orange zest, juniper and clove. Close the lid tightly and place for a month in a warm, darkened place.

Shake the jar every three days to completely dissolve the sugar. Fold gauze in eight layers. Filter the drink through it and pour into clean bottles. Cork tightly. Tincture can be stored in the refrigerator for three years.

Recipe 6: Tincture of sea buckthorn at home with spices

Ingredients

10 g of dill seeds;

fruits of sea buckthorn - 400 g;

6 g of caraway seeds;

lemon zest - 200 g;

vodka - one and a half liters.

Cooking method

Remove the fruits of sea buckthorn from a branch with thin scissors or a knife. Go through them carefully, making sure that all garbage and spoiled berries are removed. Rinse the sea buckthorn under the tap, put it on a paper towel and pat dry.

Put the berries in a clean jar with a volume of one liter and knead thoroughly with a pestle or potato crusher.

Remove the zest from the lemon with the smallest grater or special tool. Add it to the sea buckthorn puree and mix. Pour vodka over the top and insist another two weeks.

Add the dill and caraway seeds to the tincture, shake and insist for another seven days. Strain the finished drink, pour it into clean bottles and seal it tightly. Keep a darkened cool place for three years.

Sea-buckthorn tincture at home - tips and tricks

  • Be careful not to spoil the berries in the drink, as they can give it an unpleasant aftertaste.
  • The tincture will turn out even more deliciously useful if sugar is replaced by honey and alcohol is replaced by cognac.
  • Alcohol 96% must be diluted with distilled water to 40% so as not to get a burn.
  • You can use tincture as a medicine, taking a spoon in the morning and evening.
